Position SummaryWhat you'll doOversees and approves final work of junior electricians by acting as a job foreman on assigned work sites, overseeing bid processes, and ensuring completed work meets or exceeds quality, safety, and code requirements.
Conducts building maintenance by installing and removing conduit, wire, light switches, and receptacles, installing, replacing, and repairing lighting equipment (for example, light fixtures, ballasts, parking lot lights, bulbs, emergency lights); installing power supplies (for example, panels, panel heaters, UPS, transformers) to upgrade power needs; installing and removing power poles for pod walls and special equipment, resetting breakers, tracing electrical short causes, resolving customer complaints, disposing of and recycling old bulbs and ballasts, and replacing and installing motion sensors.
Provides construction and office remodeling support by ordering project materials (for example, light fixtures, wires, bulbs, switches, receptacles); unloading and storing equipment, transporting equipment between facilities, assisting with special projects (for example, HVAC, plumbing, grounds keeping , snow removal, custodial duties, pest control, carpentry); reading blueprints and plans to maintain equipment standardization, interacting with city officials to ensure code compliance; determining meter placement, relocating power needs to assist in new designs, identifying and marking junction boxes, and ensuring contractors and associates follow Walmart standards and safety requirements for installations on circuit loads, panel set ups, and lighting grids.
Sets up power needs for special events by adding generators and transformers; setting up and monitoring call centers, testing areas, and meeting areas, ensuring generator backup on Facilities while main switchgear is being replaced or maintained, and ensuring systems (for example, phone, cameras, badge readers, freezers) are online while performing appliance and power need upgrades.
Performs electrical maintenance by maintaining and balancing building electrical load, evaluating power needs and maximum load for panels, observing signs of equipment wear and tear; determining system replacement needs, checking panels for overloads and power surges; managing and troubleshooting lighting control systems, and inspecting and testing electrical equipment circuits and wiring (for example, disposals, computers, air conditioning units) for safety and functionality.
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices, supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs, and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs, determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices, monitoring progress and results, recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities, and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans, using the Open Door Policy, and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.
